1. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FORM

 2. FRANCHISE APPLICATION

After reviewing your Expression of Interest form, you will receive our Franchise Application to be completed and returned.


3. CORPORATE REVIEW

Upon completion, our Corporate team will review your Franchise Application form.  


4. MEETING WITH OUR KINKA FAMILY CORPORATE SUPPORT TEAM 

If your Franchise Application form is approved by our Corporate team, you will be contacted by KINTON RAMEN to arrange a meeting with our KINKA FAMILY Corporate Support Team at our head office in Toronto. 


5. QUESTIONNAIRE, BACKGROUND AND CREDIT CHECK

Following the meeting, you will complete a questionnaire. The questionnaire will be reviewed, and a background and credit check will subsequently be conducted. Upon return of the background and credit check results, we will inform you whether your application has been approved or denied.


6. FRANCHISE AND DISCLOSURE DOCUMENT

If approved, a Franchise and Disclosure Document will be sent to you to be signed, at which time, the franchise fee is paid. Under Alberta and Ontario law, a 14-day period must elapse before the agreement can be signed. Then, you can begin to secure financing as a potential franchisee.


7. LOCATION

Securing a location is the next step in this process. If a location has not already been selected, you will work with KINTON RAMEN’s real estate team to scout locations, tour sites and find the best option for both the franchisee and the franchisor. Once a lease has been signed, the timeline is typically 120 days for planning, design, permitting and choosing a contractor, and another 120 days to construct the interior of the location. From the time a location is secured, it takes approximately 9-12 months until a KINTON RAMEN is ready to open.


8. HIRING STAFF

Approximately 3-4 months prior to the commencement of franchisee training, you will fill any necessary management positions and hire the required number of restaurant staff. Training will not begin until required number of staff has been hired.


9. FRANCHISEE TRAINING 

Before you open your KINTON RAMEN franchise, we will ensure you are properly trained on our standards, procedures, recipes and operations. KINTON RAMEN offers a comprehensive training program which you will undergo at our KINTON RAMEN Corporate Training Centre. Training typically starts in conjunction with construction, which is approximately 90 days before opening. We offer up to three store management team members 1-3 weeks of one-on-one management training, followed by 1-3 weeks of on-site training and support when you open the doors to your very own KINTON RAMEN franchise.

KINTON RAMEN works exclusively with our commercial real estate teams to secure top quality sites across the country and build positive relationships with landlords. Our real estate teams know the KINTON RAMEN brand well, and thus what demographics, neighbourhoods and trade areas fit our brand. These elements work to our franchisees’ benefit, which is evident in our solid base of longstanding existing locations and solid reputation among landlords.

TRAINING

KINTON RAMEN offers franchisees a comprehensive training program. We offer up to three of your management team 1-3 weeks of one-on-one training at our KINTON RAMEN Corporate Training Centre, followed by 1-3 weeks of on-site training and support when you open your very own KINTON RAMEN franchise.

At KINTON RAMEN, we base our success on our reputation, and we work hard to ensure all franchise locations are upholding this reputation as well. As we grow, we want to maintain consistency in our branding, food and service between stores. We have done everything our franchisees are doing firsthand, so we see ourselves as business consultants who strive to provide feedback that will make your restaurant location busier and better. We are always available for questions and requests from our franchisees.

1. HOW CAN I OPEN A KINTON RAMEN?

KINTON RAMEN actively seeks individuals who have the potential to be great partners. Our franchisees should have a passion for the service industry, a track record for success and meet our required personal financial qualifications. 


2. HOW MUCH MONEY DO I NEED TO OPEN A FRANCHISE?

A typical full service, full size KINTON RAMEN is between 1,500 - 2000 sq ft. Costs vary depending on site conditions and size. Conversions may cost less. To start, franchisees should be prepared to make a total investment of $$600,000 - $1 million with a cash equity investment of about $240,000 to $400,000. 3. HOW MUCH ARE THE ROYALTIES AND OTHER ANNUAL FEES?

Franchise fee is $50,000 CDN. Royalty fees are 6% of gross sales. Marketing fees are 2% of gross sales. 


4. HOW MUCH CAN I MAKE AS A KINTON RAMEN FRANCHISEE?

The factors that influence profits are: quality of cost control management quality of location, operational standards of excellence to maintain sales, local and national economic factors and the competitive environment in the local market.


5. DOES KINTON RAMEN OFFER FINANCING?

Each franchisee is required to qualify for financing on their own merit and good credit. While KINTON RAMEN does not offer financing, we can direct potential franchisees to sources that have provided financing options to other franchisees in the areas of government small business loans and equipment leasing. 6. WHERE DO YOU TYPICALLY OPEN KINTON RAMEN FRANCHISES?

We prefer to locate our restaurants in high density metro and urban mixed-use developments and suburban retail centres with local businesses and offices within proximity and high foot and car traffic. We like to focus on real estate in high traffic/high density mix residential commercial areas with easy access (ingress, egress, parking), high visibility (no obstruction of the building and signage) and traffic (traffic pattern including foot traffic, traffic lights, congestion level). It’s our intention to continue our brand development globally and to introduce KINTON RAMEN to new markets. 


7. DO I FIND MY OWN LOCATION?

KINTON RAMEN provides real estate and market research services. Our real estate department conducts a site search analysis and secures the location for all our franchises. Franchisees can work with KINTON RAMEN’s dedicated real estate team to scout locations, tour sites and find the best option for both the franchisee and the franchisor. Franchisees are also welcome to work with other third-party real estate professionals that they are familiar with. 


8. WHAT SIZE OF SPACE IS TYPICALLY NEEDED?

Our typical restaurant unit is 1500 – 2000 sq ft. 


9. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO OPEN A KINTON RAMEN FRANCHISE?

KINTON RAMEN has negotiated contracts with suppliers to ensure that each restaurant receives the same products at competitive pricing. Furthermore, the systems and tools used by KINTON RAMEN ensure accurate inventory levels, freshly and properly prepared ingredients and consistent recipes.


12. WHAT KIND OF MARKETING SUPPORT DO YOU PROVIDE?

At KINTON RAMEN, we focus on digital and social media marketing and advertising. Our content centers around quality ramen and customer engagement. We are proud to have built a recognizable energetic brand voice and a loyal community of followers online.
